Try it yourself

This is the real Figma prototype, running live. Post a job, move candidates along and search CVs, the way recruiters do.

Things to try

  • Move a candidate to the next stage
  • Search the CV database
  • Switch between light and dark

These are the real Figma prototypes, embedded live, so they need a stable connection and can still feel slow or skip a step. For the full picture, open the Figma file. Every screen, state, the design system and the components are there.

01Overview

From job post to hire.

Employers post jobs, move candidates through a pipeline, search CVs and manage their team, all in one place. I designed it end to end over three months for Ethiojobs, Ethiopia’s biggest job board, with a full design system and a dark theme.

02The challenge

Posting was online. Everything after it lived in spreadsheets.

Employers posted on Ethiopia’s biggest job board, then managed everything else in spreadsheets and inboxes.

  • Applicants got lost

Hundreds of applications per role arrived with no way to rank, tag or move them forward.

  • CV search was a guessing game

Filters needed exact fields that most employers didn’t know how to fill in.

  • One login, many companies

Recruiters hiring for more than one company had to juggle a login for each.

03What it had to do

Three goals set the direction.

  • Shorten time to hire

From posting to shortlisting, fewer clicks and less copying.

  • One place for the pipeline

Applicants, stages, notes and emails live on the job, not in another tool.

  • Make search useful

Describe who you need in plain words and still get good matches.

04Who it’s for

The three people who touch a hire.

  • Recruiters

Post jobs, screen applicants and move them through stages every day.

  • Multi-company recruiters

Hire for more than one company and switch without logging out.

  • Hiring managers

Review a shortlist, leave notes and make the final call.

05How it came together

Three months, end to end.

  • 01

    Map the hiring flow

    Posting, screening, pipelines and payments

  • 02

    Structure

Nine areas, from sign in to notifications

  • 03

    System

    Foundations and components first

  • 04

    Both themes

Light first, then dark from the same tokens

06Key decisions

Less copying, more hiring.

The problem

Writing a full job post from scratch slowed down every new role.

The fix

Recruiters write the post by hand, start from a template, or describe the role and let AI draft it. Either way, they review every field before it goes live.

Core decisions

  • Three ways in: AI, a template, or from scratch.
  • The more context you give, the better the draft.
  • Nothing goes live without a review step.
One system, two themes

The problem

Dozens of screens across nine areas drift apart fast.

The fix

Foundations and components came first, and every screen was carried into dark from the same tokens.

Core decisions

  • Shared parts across jobs, candidates, CV search and settings.
  • Both themes come from one token set.
  • New screens are assembled, not drawn from scratch.
